Tuesday, July 15- rain!

4:45AM- up a little earlier to make for a smooth am. 1/2 zb, 1.5 c. black coffee w/ stevia. Shooting for this to be my only caffeine of the day. WOD was a killer for me- 5x of 1 min. row SPRINT, 85 lb. c&j's (wow), and 30 mc's. The c&j's kicked my behind, but I got them done. I definitely felt a little 'weak'- and I don't mean to sound like I should be lifting more....I just mean that I felt like my energy level was lacking. Anyhow- it was a great butt-kicker. My butt needs to be kicked.

Home to clean up for a 8:30 appt; breakfast on the road (already made in the fridge! LOVE that!) was 4B- 1 c. cottage cheese, 2/3 c. mandarins, 1/2 c. blueberries, 1 c. strawberries, 1 tbs. slivered almonds and cinnamon. A beautiful thing.

I feel much better today. I know that's because, first and foremost, I got my 'mind right' this am. What I am learning is that the early am's are my time to breathe, do a devotion (which is another new step in my life...about a year old now), and center myself for the day. Secondly, my Crossfit time/comradery has become extremely important to me. Enough said. And third, but oh so important, I ate a beautiful breakfast in the zone. I am getting ready for lunch, now, and I am 'on track' for the day. I find a great deal of comfort and strength in that, as silly as it may sound to some.

Let me just tell you, my friends....or REMIND you about the bulk room in the back of Ada's- I had a little time after my 8:30 to pick up a few things- beautiful fresh almond and peanut butter (it doesn't get any fresher than going in whole and coming out smooth!), barley, steel cut oats, almonds, etc. etc......so much more reasonably priced by bulk, and I dig it big time. Even the mixed peppercorns I love so much from Wms. Sonoma....not anymore, cause I can buy them at Ada's without the overhead/packaging! I love my life. Off to prep lunch and dig in- talk later.

Lunch-12:30 4B- 4 oz. chicken, 1.5 c. green beans, 1 c. asparagus, 1/2 grapefruit, 1/2 apple w/ 2 tsp. almond butter. Fantastic.

Snack @ 4:15- hard boiled egg, half apple with 1/2 tsp. almond butter. I am a big fan of almond butter.

Supp- @ 7:30- Zoned Chicken Florentine w/ red sauce and roasted veggies. Oustanding. THe recipe makes 2 4B meals- perfect for newlyweds!

I felt great all day. Pretty sure I have been in the zone all day...and THAT feels super! My abs are sore, but I feel great! Thanks Coach!

Evening snack on the way- 1B

TOTAL for me- 15 B

ps- Ada's has buffalo burgers and steaks.... :).....and grass fed beef..........

  2. you're kickin butt girl! so proud of you! i've been thinking of changing my wake-up time to 5am. i've been getting up with just enough time to grab a snack and get to cf on time, but i think getting up earlier will (1) allow more time for the food to digest and (2) give me time for a morning devo! i've been finding it hard to fit them into the day now that i'm doing cf in the am. and you know how it is...if you don't do it first thing it'll definitely get crowded out by the business of life! so...5am it is. my new life motto "if Sarah can do it, I can do it!" haha.
p.s. thanks for the reminder about Ada's - love that place!
