I gotta acknowledge COACH this am first off: way to be on dropping ALL processed foods from your diet, J. This is another level of nutritional commitment and I hope to be there one day soon...I admire your level of tenacity in controlling what you put in your body! Way to BE an example for all of us- that's what it's all about, that's why I am here....for what it's worth! ;)

Up with a good night's rest and coffee. Snack of 1/2 apple, hb egg, 1/2 tsp pb.
WOD was Tabata Something Else: 8x of 20 sec. on, 10 sec. rest: pull ups, push ups, sit ups, squats. One minute rest btw. rotations. Count the total reps. A body weight mecca. Nice way (used loosely!) to start the week. 6AM rocked it today- nice work team!
3B oats at gym, 2 morning star patties, 2 hb eggs, 7B pb. Simple, but would like to phase out the soy patties eventually. They are really good.
For me, my processed foods are: zone bars, steel cut oats, morning star patties, boca burgers, ezekiel bread, Classico tomato & basil sauce, deli meat, string cheese.....this list grows longer as I stop to think about it- I will continue to work on this list, but I am not quite ready to give it all up, yet. :)
1045AM- 3B fat. Hungry. Almonds. Have plateaued on the 3B carb/early thing I think...today has been a little bit of a challenge. Currently have posted another question to RW re: bonking during the day, possibly adding sweet potatoes, when is it time to up fat again....I would encourage anybody to check his site out if you have zone ?'s. His newest posting is re: what the Crossfit Games elite athletes eat- check out the post about Dutch- scores 452 on FGB, not to mention he KILLS every other cf named WOD.....

Thanks for the compliments Sarah, and I'll say that YOU (and everyone like you) is the reason I love doing this crazy CrossFit-thang, it's awesome isn't it?? ZERO processed foods, I think I can do it - but doesn't it floor you when you realize how many calories you take in are processed food sources? Not all of them are terrible/bad, and I know you are making very wise decisions as to what is going in your body! ~ J

ReplyDeletei think i'm becoming addicted to RW's blog. the other day i read almost every single article he had in his archive about sleep! haha! i've really been struggling with the sleep lately. i love that the zone gives me steady, alert energy throughout the day, but i still have a hard time winding down at night and getting a restful sleep! part of that is probably because i'm staying up late to study, but i've been trying so hard to at least get 7 hours and it's just not happening. it's a mystery!
