This is a page turning week for my family. If I may, let me take a little blog space to mention something not Crossfit or Zone related- you can choose to read, or not- no worries from this end.
I have a 28 mo. nephew, Henry- you may have seen his picture up on my slideshow. My brother and sister-in-law's 3rd child. Henry has epilepsy (I did too, until age 10 or so...cured on Dilantin) and has anywhere from 20-40 'mini' seizures a day. They look like a big hiccup. But, as long as the seizures occur, he cannot develop normally. He is just now walking, just now beginning to talk. Pretty dang handsome and precious. My people make pretty babies.
On Thursday of this week, July 31- Henry will undergo a relatively well known brain surgery to try to correct this problem, to stop the seizures. I am not posting all of the scientific and medical details, but know that the objective here is to sever the communication from one lobe to the other, stopping the 'communication' that says 'have seizure now', in layman's terms. Paul and Shelley (bro and s-i-l) have an excellent team of docs and surgeons; they leave today for the 5 hour drive to Memphis (they live in Springdale, AR) to LeBonheurs All Children's Hospital to begin the process.
For those of you who pray, or source positive energy in whatever way you choose, I am asking that you might remember Henry this week in a little prayer, the lighting of candles, singing of songs, dancing.....however it is that you 'ROLL'.....it matters not to me how it happens!
My family and my heart thank you.

I am with you girl. I hope all goes well, Henry will be in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteHey girl. Wow...I can't imagine the fear and hope and every other emotion that you and your family must be feeling right now. I will most certainly be keeping Henry and the fam in my prayers this week. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAlso...if you're interested in finding out more about that Beth Moore event at McGregor this weekend, you can Google 'beth moore simulcast' and read a little blurb about it. If you are interested, you can purchase tickets online at:

There's a few ladies from church who are going - we're planning on meeting up there and sitting together. I'd really love if you could join us!
See you in the morning :)
So glad you told us about little Henry... the Charles girls and Perri boys will definately be including him and your family in our prayers Sarah.
ReplyDeleteI already prayed for Henry, and will continue to keep him in my prayers. And think positive thoughts. Both make a difference. I also want to thank you for your support. Hard times right now.
