Tuesday

Up early with a good night's rest. Really been eye opening how important quality sleep is- not sure how high quality mine is, but I am working on it. Snack hb egg, 1/2 apple, pb.

WOD: more metcon- for time: row 500m, then 4x of 25 kbs and run 400m. The kbs's kicked my tail this am. Kicked my tail. Way to be MK and KC- you rocked it!

Still jacking with my post WOD meal: did not take oats to gym today. Maybe I am trying to self teach too much here- this is such a learning curve for me.
730- 4B hb eggs, 2B apple, 3B oats, 1/2Bbrocc&tomatoes, 7B pb.

Just getting home from a lunch meeting with a customer in Palmetto. I have to say that breakfast worked pretty dang good for me (with the added carbs). And SO FAR (323PM) all is well.
Lunchola@ Popi's in Palmetto (another fine dining experience...only if you are me do you get these chances...): Greek Salad with grilled chicken: about 4oz. chicken, couldn't have been more than 1B (if that) salad, 1B fat 4 olives, approx. 1TBS feta (I worked around most of it), added rw vinegar and 6B EVOO, then upon getting back in my truck had 6B almonds. My process here is to make up for the low carbs with a little added fat.
4-1-13....about 3B fat per 1B carb missing.....I think.....

This is sooooo out of my comfort zone (no pun intended) to be adding the fat...but I am trying to adjust my meals so that I a) don't get hungry and b) don't bonk out in the afternoons.....and from reading RW's stuff, and talking with coach a little, I think I am doing this right.. I am totally open to comments, here. Also, working toward improved performance...

I cannot tell you how excited I am about my supper- thanks to MK for the mini eggplant pizza recipe! Kate- you will want this one!! EASY: 1B eggplant, sliced crosswise a little thick, so you have round discs. I have measured about 5 to be 1.5 cups. 1B red sauce (I found one at Ada's, also- Walnut Acres), 1B mozzy (I used ff), 3B cooked chicken that I pulled apart into little pieces). Broil the eggs first to your liking, then top and broil again. I am having a 1B salad with.

Just as suspected, din was the bomb. My man gobbled them up, too. Added 7B pb. I feel I get a better bang for my 'block' (zone humor) by using ab or pb. EVOO is delicious, but I feel that sometimes it goes unnoticed, lost in the 'mix' so to speak. Most times I'd rather EAT something! Got a response from RW again- that dude is the shizzle, for rizzle.

Snack later, but cutting my carb tonight to a half, just 'cause I'm a little freaky and want to keep them right on for the day, at 12 total.

TOTAL- 15-12-30

One little booboo today: was at Ada's today (by the way, NOT impressed with them lately- they have been OUT of several items- for like days....this was my third trip within 7-10d) to get Stevia...out.....so dude sends me over by the vitamins where there's a different brand of Stevia...so I purchase, not cheap..like $8-9......get it home and start to make hot tea- decided to peek at the label- has MALTO listed as the final ingredient!! Arrrggghhhh! Trash can.

Night night, termites.

  1. So funny. I am a gum addict! My jaw totally was hurting from chewing too much. I am obsessed with the clean taste in my mouth I know what you are going to say FREAK! Maybe 2 pieces a day is more realistic. Now I am thinking about how good a piece of gum would be...CRAP! I'll try not to think about it and let me know where you got that tea. I think that'll help me in the afternoons. Nice WOD today, it was a killer! It's so nice to know I am not the only one out there, it makes me feel a little less freakish :)

  2. Sarah! Am back on blog. can't wait to see you at next weekend WOD. and at one of many gatherings i will have at my new abode...soon. haven't crossfitted since thursday--i really miss it, even tho the moving has wiped me out. am going to start jogging round my new hood. am close to river so will be meditative and aesthetically pleasing and good for my body. i, too, want to give up processed foods, but first i need to start measuring my foods and consistently staying in the zone. have been eyeballing; need to measure. i've removed many processed foods from my diet already, and must admit to not missing them--surprisingly. i thought i'd miss the h-e-double-l- hockey-sticks out of milk, but i haven't. haven't had any milk in weeks. i eat too many zone bars, and they are processed, in addition to cheese, creamer, and the foods i rely on when i must grab something on the go, like bagels and wraps. blah blah blah. going to nap then settle more then crossfit then paint. wanted to say thank you for you words of inspiration and encouragement b4 i log off. they really help. i'm trying real hard to be a shepherd. :)

Michelle: i am a gum whore, too. i feel your pain.

  3. Hey Sarah, hope I can make the wod this evening. Class might run long. The class I am taking is for fire fighter survival. All taken from actual scenarios where guys have died, and then ways to get out, or ways to save them have been developed. It is taken one step further by using combat type training (stress innoculation) so when situational stress sends your body into auto-pilot more skils and techniques are able to be used without thinking about them. It is really cool how much we are learning about our brain's and how you function under "stress" or what is called "condition black". See ya JB

  5. p.s. the eggplant pizza recipe sounds good and easy! i need simple recipes. w the move and grades due soon, i'm easing my way into groove, and won't be experimenting in the kitchen for a little bit, but want to gather some recipes. we should have a separate blog just for tried and true zone recipes...or do we? am 1 having a special Polish girl (~~hey~~) moment?
